Guiding in-house teams for over a decade at Casio, Cancer Research UK and now Philip Morris, JC Connington has super-charged SEO strategies for a variety of brands. But it’s his energy, empathy and relentless advocacy to break down business siloes that has helped him get things over the line.
He is neurodivergent and lives in the open sea; annually swimming triple 5k’s and surfing on his days off. Years ago, as he was about to embark on his PhD in hermeneutics – he turned to music and for years toured the world with his 2 bands, Junkstar and Omega having written a #2 UK single. He also featured as a regular music pundit on BBC5 live.
In 2021, JC won the first of two awards – the International C3 Search Award for ‘Small team, Big return’ and a UK search campaign award. The same year, he began to mentor disenfranchised teenagers in the South-East to boost their client’s SEO. Now at Philip Morris, he is enjoying once again ‘bringing a little bit of rock n’ roll to the team, and their content marketing’.
